WHEN YOUR TRIP DOESN'T GO QUITE AS PLANNED: HERE'S WHAT HAPPENED (PART 3)

PS- Start reading from the blog at the very bottom of the window, then the one above ir (ie the second part) then this one

This blog is a continuation of my previous blog, "When your trip doesnt go quite as planned: here's what happened(part 2)"

Well, I was talking about the Flu in the previous blog. Now I'm gonna talk about my fever, and my flights in this one.

Now, I'm gonna tell you about my near-death experience with Spirit Airlines.
So, we had boarded our flight to DFW from La Guardia. So everything was going as smooth as usual until there was an announcement-
"We have found a hole in one of the tyres of the landing gears. It will take a while to fix it"
Everyone sighed. Well, this meant that it was a delay- a huge delay that was going to last for ages! turns out I was correct- we stayed on the ground for around 2 hours! And then we took off.
But actually, I should consider myself lucky- what if they hadn't noticed it? My flight make the headlines- because maybe we would have crashed! So i owe it all to the captain of that flight.
One thing I love about Spirit is that everyone is just so friendly and comical. One of the jokes the captain said was when he allowed the passengers to leave the aircraft and to take their stuff along. Here's what he said:
"Dear passengers. You can leave the aircraft and go into the terminal but can only enter when they call for boarding. So to be safe, take all your belongings with you (in case you miss the flight) except for food- I'll get more to eat!"
This made everyone laugh, even me  I guess that's the best thing about Spirit- the cabin crew.

Once we landed in DFW, I went home to take rest and was out of the world until it was morning. This might shock you guys, but I got a 105℉ fever!!

That was why the rest of my days in US, were super-dull. And that's also the reason why my flight back to Bombay was un-comfortable! Didn't eat at all for all the 16 hours!

So, this blog marks the end of all the USA Trip blogs. Maybe I'll make a "Best things to do in NYC" blog like the one I did about L.A

WHEN YOUR TRIP DOESN'T GO QUITE AS PLANNED: HERE'S WHAT HAPPENED
(PART 2)

PS- START READING FROM THE PREVIOUS BLOG AT THE BOTTOM PF THE WINDOW, THEN THIS ONE AND THEN PART 3(ABOVE)

Well, just like you read in my previous blog, "When your trip doesn't go quite as planned: here's what happened" this blog is a continuation of that. Now, coming back to the story....

Image result for flip switch old fashionedOur cab reached the hotel (technically, it was more like an inn) called "the meadow-lands river inn". even though the place was tiny, I loved the switches- they were those old-fashioned flip ones (shown on the right) The inn, had an awesome location- right next to a Walmart. If any of you guys don't know what 'Walmart' is, just google it out! If you guys want me to make a blog on 'Walmart', just say so in the comments!

Anyways, moving on:
After a whole day of rest, we headed on to New York city using an NJ Transit bus- all the way to bus station called Port Authority. After getting down, we headed off to the Hop On Hop Off buses. In case you are wondering what THAT is, it's basically a tour service wherein you buy tickets, get on the bus, and get off whenever you want to! Nice idea, right?

After this bus ride, we went to the ISS INTREPID AIR, SEA AND SPACE MUSEUM. Well, the most iconic stuff here are the legendary CONCORDE and the SPACE SHUTTLE ENTERPRISE!

Then there was the circle line cruise, that took you to the statue of liberty, Brooklyn bridge, etc.

EXPECTATION 🠝🠝                REALITY🠝🠝
We tried going to the Rockefeller Center, which apparently was an observatory around 70 floors high(i guess) But due to the fog I mentioned in the previous blog, we couldn't see a thing! Seriously, NOTHING!! What a bummer!

The same happened when we went to the Empire State Building- only worse. First we went to the 70th floor observatory, where visibility was OK-OK. But when we went to the 82nd floor, there was nothing to see. Plus, there was a super-strong gust of wind- it was so strong I couldn't walk!- I thought I would fly away!πŸ˜…πŸ˜œ
But thank goodness I didn't go to the 102nd floor- I would've flown away for sure!!πŸ˜œπŸ˜›

And then came the final problem- I just had gotten a headache! It grew worse and worse until we had to consult a doctor and that's when the news broke out- I had the Flu

There also was another problem with the flight back to DFW. That I'll tell you guys in the next blog!

And about my flu, that will come in the next blog too!

WHEN YOUR TRIP DOESN'T GO QUITE AS PLANNED: HERE'S WHAT HAPPENED

Recently, I had visited a place recently during my USA trip, which is a dream city to live for many around the world. Plus, it's also known as "the big apple" or "the world's most exciting place" Yep, it's New York City I'm talking about! You all might consider me lucky, but to be frank, the trip didn't go as we planned it. Continue reading if you want to know more!

We were on board Spirit airlines, from Dallas to La Guardia, New York. As we were coming to NYC after 10 exact years, (I was born in NYC and had lived there till 2009, I came back in 2019 (you do the math)) I was jumping around the plane with joy!(not really)

One of my wishes was to go on top of the One World Trade Center and see the whole city. I also wanted to visit the TWA hotel at JFK international. But both of these didn't come true. Again, continue reading to know the whole story.

As we started our descent and the captain of the plane asked us to fasten our seat-belts, I was exuberant about seeing NYC after 10 years.

But I didn't even get a glimpse of it until we were like 100 feet from the ground! Honestly, I was disappointed- and to add insult to injury, our plane was asked to hold for something like a half-hour!

As soon as we taxied to the gate, we rushed out of the plane to get our baggage. And we had to wait another half an hour before the first suitcase reached the conveyor belt.

Trying our best not to let our mood ruin the holiday, we sauntered out of the airport, to hail a cab to Seacocus(I think that's the spelling. If it isn't, then could you guys write the correct spelling in the comments?), the place where we were staying. As the car chugged towards the hotel, I realized that you couldn't see half of most of the skyscrapers around- it was so foggy! "Well, there goes the plan of seeing the city from high up!" I said to my always-gonna-be-jovial dad. And one look at his face said that I was right.

Well, the next part of the story will be mentioned in part 2!

Thank you for reading,
